Sulman penthouse sells for $17m
A SYDNEY penthouse has sold for $17 million, to a Chinese investor who snapped it up for his uni student kids.
IT'S fitting that the sky palace, complete with Sydney's largest rooftop pool, is on College St, because it looks set to become a college hang out for some lucky students.
Originally tipped to be city's most expensive apartment if it had reached its whopping $20 million price tag when it listed five years ago, the Sulman penthouse in The Residence complex at Hyde Park sold to a Chinese investor who has adult children at university in Sydney.
The Sulman covers a total of 800sq m over two storeys, has three bedrooms, two car spaces, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, wraparound rooftop garden with a 20m private swimming pool and separate kitchen, plus sweeping views of the CBD and harbour.
According to selling agents CBRE, the strata fees alone for the apartment would cost about $100,000 a year. Yes, that's right, $100,000 a year.
There are two apartments still available in The Residence including the Archibald Penthouse which has a $16 million price tag.
