Sold: Byron Bay house where Matt Damon stayed neighbouring Hemsworths
THE Byron Bay house that Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso stayed at for the better part of last summer has been sold — and in turn it would seem Chris Hemsworth has a new neighbour.
The internet went into overdrive earlier this year with rumours that Matt Damon had bought in Byron Bay.
He hadn’t. And the glossy mags eventually admitted he was actually only renting in the area — in Broken Head — before we were treated to what felt like months of images of Damon and his mates the Hemsworths brothers enjoying family time at the beach and various events.
While Damon didn’t buy at the time, he did rent some pretty sweet digs, and the holiday home called Blackwood House quickly became known to locals as ‘Matt Damon’s house’.

Hemsworths share a rental home in Byron Bay
The home has been on-and-off the market since February with a price guide of $3.8 million, and it has now — after plenty of interest from around the world — sold for that same amount.
But Damon isn’t the only superstar to have called the exclusive property — which sits on an 59ha block and has sweeping views of the coast — ‘home’
Liam Hemsworth and partner Miley Cyrus have stayed there too.
And — for the time being — the house also has some pretty well-known neighbours too.
Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky are renting the $4.25 million house next door — while they complete controversial $9 million renos on their $7 million coastal mansion.
While there had been plenty of interest reportedly from A-listers to buy Damon’s rental, it would seem the eventual buyer is from Sydney.
