Sobriety coach selling Manly home to help celebs/women stay sober
Rachel Hind kicked a drinking habit and is now selling her Manly house to kickstart a coaching business helping others beat alcohol abuse.
Rachel Hind is the country’s only certified and qualified sobriety coach and having kicked a drinking habit she is now selling her Manly house to help others have a healthy relationship with alcohol.
Her Federation semi with a $2.5 million guide is being auctioned this month so she can expand a coaching business to help drinkers take control of their alcohol consumption.

The 43-year-old former banking executive used to wind down after work with two bottles of wine most nights followed by vodka shots.
“In my 20s and 30s I loved that fun, social side of work. But once I had two children, I started drinking at home as well to cope with the stress of juggling a high pressure career with caring for kids and running a household,” she said.
The regular drinking led to blackouts and memory loss and a cycle of guilt, anxiety, self-loathing and more drinking.
A health scare and a supportive husband made her take stock, she got help, underwent detox and kicked the habit.
But the journey to sobriety was a hard one and many a time she would have liked to call someone after hours, to have someone support and encourage her.
She retrained as a sobriety coach through SMART Recovery International and the State government. She then started her business, Rachel Hind — Be Your Best Self.
For $1500 people can go on a six-week one to one program with Mrs Hind, for $5500 she offers a six month program helping people quit alcohol for good.
“I am getting into the celebrity market,” she said.
“I go with them to events and stand in the corner, they can’t trust themselves but with me there they don’t drink,” she said.
Alcohol abuse is a problem on the northern beaches. According to the Sydney North Primary Health report of 2017 the rate of hospitalisation due to drinking alcohol in the Manly area is 60.5 per cent higher than the NSW rate. And local police are seeing a 30 per cent increase in the number of middle-aged women admitted to hospital because of alcohol abuse over the last two years.
By releasing some equity from her home, that she shares with her husband and two primary-school aged children, Mrs Hind is keen to expand her business, start online courses and train other coaches.
“The house is full of period charm and character almost English like, the location is to die for, and we walk everywhere as nothing is more than five minutes walk away,” she said.
“The school, the kids swimming lessons at Manly pool, our gym, the beach, the wonderful restaurants on Pittwater Rd and of course the amazing Manly town.

The neighbourhood and community feel will be sorely missed, full of families, the children get together on the streets and skateboard, scooter and you will even see a homemade swing on a tree opposite our house. We will miss the house, the neighbourhood, the location, we are selling for no other reason that wanting to upscale my business to the next level,” she said.
The property for sale is a restored three-bedroom Federation semi at 35 Smith St, Manly with an entertaining back deck, ultra chic bathroom and modern kitchen. The north-facing home is a three minute walk to Manly Beach. The circa 1910 single level home, with potential for a second storey, goes to auction on Saturday June 29 through Stone Real Estate.
