Narrabeen apartment ideal for downsizers wanting a mini-house
This apartment is more like a mini-house, which is making it popular with downsizer. The vendor is a downsizer herself, and has loved ever moment of living in the beachside location.
Until about nine years ago, Glenda Carter had never set foot in the beachside suburb of Narrabeen.
The former Northbridge resident was looking for a home to retire to, and her search took her to a boutique apartment block in Lagoon St.

It was love at first sight. She bought the apartment, moved in and immersed herself in the lifestyle.
“It’s heaven on earth, it really is,” Ms Carter said.
“I’d never been to Narrabeen until I came up here looking for a place to retire. This was a dream come true.”
Retirement is probably not the word you would pick to describe Ms Carter’s life in Narrabeen.
If she is not kayaking on Narrabeen Lagoon or further north in Pittwater, she is walking around the headland, swimming in the ocean or riding her bike.
“I worked very long hours in my job and I have loved the lifestyle up here,” Ms Carter said.
“I have a very active lifestyle, so living so close to everything has been fantastic — what I love about this place is that you don’t have to get in your car and drive anywhere. I walk.”
Ms Carter has turned her apartment into a tropical oasis that would not be out of place in a Balinese resort.
With 297sqm of single level living, an 18m street frontage and private gate entry, the home is both stylish and relaxed.
Floor-to-ceiling walls of glass slide away to a terrace with remote controlled awning, creating an indoor-outdoor oasis that is perfect in every season.
A level lawn and landscaped gardens add to the feel that this is more like a house than an apartment.
Other features include a stone kitchen with large island bench, gas cooktop and Miele appliances, built-in barbecue, main bedroom with private courtyard, open ensuite, and luxury bath, dedicated study, ducted airconditioning, gas heating, lift access, and hot-and-cold outdoor shower.
Meanwhile, Ms Carter is on the hunt for a new project, although she doubts she will ever go far.
“How could you possibly leave this,” she said.
The property is for sale by expressions of interest, with a price guide of $2,150,000. For more details contact Joshua Perry or Brendan Pomponio, of Belle Property Dee Why
