AUCTION CALL THAT BROKE TWO DOZEN HEARTS
In fact Adam and Julie-Anne Tindall were so keen to enjoy this ocean view they included underfloor heating into their dining terrace so they could look out to sea in all seasons.
The two-storey designer house at 29 Grandview Pde is on 1353sqm of land.
It is for the sale for the first time and has a $3.95 million price tag.
Agent Kylie Segedin, of LJ Hooker Mona Vale, said the large usable land, ocean and headland views and sunny aspect make it a special offering and a home that suits many stages of life.
The Tindalls built the house 17 years ago when their youngest child was just one and they wanted a functional family home with room for four children and lots of space to play.
The large block has an astroturf basketball court, a small putting green, a 10m long swimming pool and a spring-free trampoline. The children can walk to the beach in five minutes without crossing a road and all of them have been heavily involved in Nippers.
“There is a new surf club coming with kiosk, it is going to be lovely,” Mrs Tindall said.
With a large rumpus room beside the pool and the alfresco dining room there is plenty of room for friends to gather and for large-scale entertaining.
“The rumpus has gone from being full of Lego and dolls to having a pool table and movies,” Mrs Tindall said.
Upstairs the children also have an enclosed sunroom for studying, a reading retreat and their own spa bathroom.
Mum and dad also have a spa bathroom, a large bedroom overlooking the ocean, access to a sunroom and a walk-in wardrobe.

Storage is plentiful inside the house and even the oversized double garage has a mezzanine level for kayaks and bulky items. And if that is not enough a pull-down ladder accesses the attic for even more storage.
The swimming pool was relined this year with a crystal bead lining that throws off brilliant colours in the sunlight.
There is also a home office with its own entrance which is handy for people working from home. Mr Tindall is the CEO of AMP Capital, a funds management arm, and the couple is looking for something smaller in the area.
