The Oscar-winning Mad Max hair designer and make-up artist Lesley Vanderwalt has snappily secured the pre-auction sale of her Rushcutters Bay apartment.

Listed with a $1.65 million price guide, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom home, with garage, fetched $1.725 million and was last sold at $985,000 in 2007.

It was marketed by Jeremy Brink and James Peach at Ray White Taylor and Partners and had been listed for a June auction, but sold after 40 groups went through the property in the 12 days it was on the market.

Six contracts were issued and the purchaser will move from the northern beaches.

Vanderwalt is based on the Gold Coast having paid $575,000 last year in the Main Beach block, Bougainvillea, for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment.

She won her Oscar in 2016 for Mad Max: Fury Road.
