It is often the quietest locations that attract property hunters looking for a peaceful lifestyle.

The picturesque town of Davistown on the Central Coast’s Brisbane Waters is one of those places, with its quaint shopping village and natural landscape including wetlands inhabited by rare wildlife.

Populated mostly by young families and elderly retirees, one local family have purchased a quaint fisherman’s cottage in Davistown for a healthy $1.4 million.

The light-filled home at 15 Mirreen Ave includes sweeping water views over the Cockle Channel and is close to the ferry wharf and local cafes.

With three bedrooms on a 481sqm block, agent Ruth Cameron from Edge Residential Saratoga said that sale was great for the area.

“The house was fairly small, but in an incredible location,” she said.

Highlight features include a large open lounge room that draws your eyes straight to the view, entertainment balconies ideal for outdoor dining and a second private living area.

There is also an auto double garage with internal access, hardwood flooring, airconditioning and some charming established gardens.

The property, which had an auction bidding guide of $1.3-$1.4 million sold before it was scheduled to go under the hammer. It had been with the same family for 17 years.

The sale is well and truly a street record for Mirreen Ave.

The highest previous sale on the street was 69 Mirreen Ave, which sold in 2017 for $965,000.

Ms Cameron also recently sold a Davistown waterfront property for an off-market record price of $2 million.

The home at 1a Dilgara Ave on a large 917sqm block has multiple open-plan living areas with vaulted ceilings, dual street access and a pool.

The median house price in Davistown is $819,000.
