Surrounded by the glistening waters of Sydney Harbour on three sides, Point Piper is the most wanted address in Australia, where the likes of ex-PM Malcolm Turnbull, Atlassian tech guru Scott Farquhar and former Aussie home loans boss John Symond rest their heads.

It’s the home of Australia’s richest street – Wolseley Rd, where the median house price is $23,755,000, according to PropTrack – and it’s now for Wahlberg home for the next few months.

The 52-year-old star of The Departed has temporarily moved into the three-storey house that boasts 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and 7 parking spaces, that could be worth as much as $100m.

Sitting on 1238 sqm, the home was sold for $51m in April 2020. Given the dramatic rise in top end prices and demand for premium Sydney homes since then, the home could sell for as much as double its previous transfer price, if it was to hit the market today.

The home could rent for as much as $50,000 a week.

“I’m not the owner of the house, but it’s been cool,” Wahlberg told The Daily Telegraph.

“The only difficult part is that I’m so far away from my family.”

Featuring Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House views, large plots and direct waterfront access Point Piper has long held the title as Australia’s poshest road, appearing to the uber wealthy both here and overseas.

“Exuding a sense of sanctuary, the home’s expanses of glass harness the outlook while the vast living spaces open to a rainforest-like internal courtyard for a calming ambience. Undoubtedly one of Sydney’s most distinguished trophy homes.”
