Eastern suburbs family pays $210k above the guide for Willoughby home
A Willoughby home has sold under the hammer $210,000 above the price guide, in a hot auction that saw five bidders compete.
A whopping 173 groups turned out to inspect a four-bedroom home on one of Willoughby’s finest streets.
So it came as no surprise when 7 Chiltern Rd sold at auction for $3.010 million — $210,000 above the guide.
It was also the most expensive home to sell under the hammer on the north shore last weekend.

John McManus, of McGrath Willoughby, had five bidders register on the day, with a young family from the eastern suburbs walking away as the buyer.
“The family loved the location and the size of the home,” he said. “They couldn’t believe how quiet Willoughby was compared to the east.”
Mr McManus said an increasing number of eastern suburbs and inner west buyers were turning to north shore suburbs like Willoughby.
“The Willoughby market is holdings it own and whenever something is attractive to buyers and priced right, you will get plenty of interest for it,” he said.
The 740sqm renovated property is in a good location close to shops and transport.
It features a swimming pool, studio/teen retreat, high ornate ceilings and a bathroom with claw foot bathtub.
