Originally a 1960s weatherboard shack, the old house was knocked down and a brick duplex was constructed in its place.
Mr Ashton said that a side by side design was chosen rather than front to rear to make the most of the breezes, views and light.
“The elevation on a quiet street, proximity to the beach and opportunity for views was a key factor,” he said.
Constructed by local builder Ben Dunstan of Master Building Works, the brand new Torrens Title duplex could be the ultimate property for someone searching for a relaxed beachside lifestyle without compromising on space, luxury or practicality.
The building envelope is staggered, with window and skylight positions chosen particularly to bring light into the downstairs living areas and even the hallways.
Highlight features include oak flooring, ducted airconditioning and extra high double garaging with internal access.
Downstairs includes contemporary open-plan living spaces that flow to an undercover entertainment area.
There is also a rare downstairs main bedroom, a feature that Mr Ashton said downsizer retirees are often searching for in a duplex.
“People often look at the long-term picture, and while they may be fit to use the stairs now, the option to live downstairs as they age is appealing,” Mr Ashton said.
Upstairs offers second and third bedrooms that would be perfect for guests, larger families or a retreat area with space and privacy.
Bordering Toowoon Bay and just a 600m walk to the beach, the location of the duplex is prime.
