With boarded up windows and graffiti all over the facade of the building, 72 and 74 Fitzroy St is well known with locals.
Records show that the site has been left empty for nearly 10 years.

The 338sqm property is set to go to auction next month on July 3 through Raine and Horne Commercial — Inner West/South Sydney director Luke Smith.
Mr Smith said early interest in the property has been around $1.1 million and the vendors were motivated to sell.
According to CoreLogic, the property last traded hands in 2013 for $850,000, when it was snapped up by local company Dewkelp Pty Ltd.
Under their ownership it has been stripped back to a blank canvas with the interiors now tidy compared to the junk that was inside before, while the overgrown garden and lawn have also been cleared.
The two Torrens titled semi-detached properties come with an existing DA approved by Inner West Council in July 2016.
It allows for the construction of a two-storey building with five commercial tenancies consisting of an interior design office, engineers office, media office, architects office and an artist’s studio.
The Fitzroy St property also falls under the IN2 Light Industrial zoning which allows for light industrial use or for residential dwellings.
Marrickville Metro Shopping Centre is located just behind the property, and it also borders the residential and commercial districts of the suburb.
