Justine Cullen, the recently married editor of Jones, the DJ’s department store prestige fashion magazine, is selling her Avalon Beach home.
But despite its popular beachside chic design, like many Sydney vendors she’s facing the headwinds of ultra-cautious buying enthusiasm.

McGrath Avalon agents Jonathan Fletcher and James Baker gave an initial $2.1 million guide for its February auction, but now the price guidance had dropped to $1,975,000.
Behind a white picket fence, the home has four bedrooms, separate lounge and dining spaces and a designer stone kitchen.
Cullen has owned the home since 2014 when she paid $1.46 million for a quaint 1950s fibro cottage.
Two years later she undertook a full scale designer renovation, which included expanding the living area of the home by carving an opening on one side to the pool.
A staggered deck with custom built bar and barbecue leads down to the lawn and private garden sanctuary on its 570 sqm block.
Over the Christmas break Cullen, the former editor-in-chief of Elle Australia, married former TV presenter turned producer Hayden Guppy in Texas.
Cullen is expecting her fourth son in March, her first with Guppy.
Their wedding came during a road trip across America. It involved stops off in Alabama, Montana and Mexico.
She recently Instragammed she was getting “nostalgic and sentimental” ahead of selling her “beach shack which we’re officially about to outgrow.”
They’re leaving their “dream street,” moving one street away.
It has been a busy time for Cullen whose first quarterly issue of Jones featured Fernanda Ly on the cover.
The autumn magazine, released earlier this month, is aimed at their professional shoppers who have an average $136,000 household income which is $33,000 higher than the average population.
Four bedroom homes in Avalon Beach have a current median house price of $1,755,000, with CoreLogic calculating there has been 70 per cent change in its median price over the past five years.
Its annual change in median price over the past decade has been six per cent annually.
