Buzz around Bateau Bay continues with record property sale
A rising star when it comes to top property sales, the buzz around Bateau Bay is growing thanks to a record sale plus the start of a new project from a pair of celebrity renovators.
Bateau Bay is a rising star when it comes to property sales.
The beachside ‘burb keeps setting record property sales, with a string of homes selling over an eight-month period for $1.5 million plus.
Now a new house has taken the crown as the most expensive property in town with the $1.835 million off-market sale of 2 Altona Ave.

The stunning coastal home, which beat the previous suburb record by $135,000, was renovated to an impeccable standard.
The before and after photos are mind-blowing.
Agent Brian Whiteman from The Agency said that it was a stroke of luck that allowed the vendors to buy the house back in 2017 after losing it at auction.
“The couple that won the house at auction got cold feet, so I told them about the underbidders, who were so disappointed to have missed out. We managed to swap the contract over, which meant that they could go ahead with their reno,” he said.
The house now looks completely different to the tiny, dated shack that it once was.
A picturesque white picket fence and classic front porch offer immediate street appeal and ocean breezes.
With neutral tones throughout, natural gas fireplace, plantation shutters, high ceilings and glass windows looking north over the pool, the property was designed with a focus on comfort and contemporary elegance.
Mr Whiteman said that he thought Bateau Bay was the place to be in.
“You see people driving up just to do the walk from Bateau to Forries. There is a unique little village feel here with the cafes and shops — people have said it’s like the North Shore of the Central Coast,” he said.
To add to the Bateau Buzz, celebrity renovators Kyal and Kara Demmrich have just started their latest renovation project in east Bateau Bay.

The pair are knocking down an asbestos-ridden shack to create their dream family home.
Kara recently confirmed that they have started the project near the Blue Lagoon Resort, with slabs due to be poured this week.
