Blue Mountains trophy home with medieval turret, Bunda House, up for sale
This incredible six-bedroom estate in the Blue Mountains, complete with its very own turret tower, is the ultimate medieval abode and could set a new price record for the region.
A sprawling heritage-listed Blue Mountains estate on 1.25 hectares and boasting its own turret tower is up for sale.
The property, first named Eringarth and now Bunda House, is located at 1-10 Railway Parade, Springwood, and was built between 1881 and 1883.

It is the current home to antique dealer and jeweller Veronica Bunda.
The home, which is approximately 600 sqm, was first built by Irish-born bedding manufacturer John Lawler.
The property has expectations of about $4.5 million, which would set a new suburb record if it sells around that figure.
The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage states the property was gifted to the religious order the Sisters of St Joseph in 1926, which two of Lawler’s daughters were members of, and was used as both a home and a school.
According to the 1875 Sands Directory, Lawler also owned a home named Maryville at 295 Glebe Rd in Glebe.
More than forty years later the property, left dishevelled and in disrepair, was sold to antique dealer Robert Bunda in 1971, who began painstaking renovations.
The grounds of Eringarth were carved up and sold off over the years.
Initially seven acres, one acre was sold to the local railway and three acres were sold as an industrial site.
According to the listing, the six-bedroom sandstone home features decorative iron fretwork, five original fireplaces and a marble-topped gas kitchen.
The grounds also feature a medieval turret tower and a fully tiled sauna.
The property also has a workshop, garden pavilion, original slab tool shed, a cellar and generous car space.
According to the Office of the Environment and Heritage, modifications to the property during the 1970s included replacing the iron lace, extending a rear wing and castellated (a wall featuring regular spaces) tower at the north end of the property and an east-facing veranda on the rear wing was infilled.
It is listed for sale through Brenden Purcell of Purcell Property and Darren Curtis of Christie’s International.
