Millennials who never want to have to pay for smashed avo again may have just found their dream property in this Central Coast avocado farm that has been listed for sale.

The large farm at 1160 George Downes Dr, Kulnura has been with the same family since 1939 and comes with around 2.8 hectares of mature avocado trees.

This is good news for young property hunters who want to have their avo and eat it too.

The farm comes with a price guide of $1.595 million, which is a bargain for Sydney buyers, who would pay the same for a house in the trendy inner west suburb of Rozelle.

In 2016, smashed avo became a national symbol of how unattainable the Aussie dream of home ownership had become after KPMG analyst Bernard Salt famously warned Millennials that they would never save home deposits if they kept ordering expensive avo breakfasts.

However Millennials take note — there may be some hard work involved with the farm.

“The avo crops are about 15 years old, so will need a bit of pruning and some new planting,” agent Michael Kidd from Michael Kidd Property Sales Kulnura said.

“But there is so much potential for buyers.”

The long-term owner purchased the huge 17.64ha block from his father in the 1980s.

With just under 4ha of cleared land, the property also comes with an original house from the 1980s and untouched natural bushland at the back.

There is also a spring fed creek running through the bushland at the rear with a waterhole and pump shed.

The brick veneer house has three bedrooms and an iron roof. The listing says that it requires some renovation.

It is also possible, subject to council approval, to build a second home, provided that the property is used for horticulture or farming and the existing residence is used as a rural workers cottage.

“There is potential to clear some land for farming, the buyer would just need to contact Local Land Services,” Mr Kidd said.
