Tech investor Joshua Shields and his employment lawyer wife Alexandra Shields are selling their eastern suburbs four-bedroom home with a relatively affordable price guide.

The median house price of Edgecliff is $3.95m but Louise Snowden and Rick Daniel of Snowden Jones have a guide of $3.5m for ‘Silver Falls’, which is described as a “picture-perfect” classic Federation freestanding home at 13 Walker Ave.

The couple bought the home with an 11m frontage on a 253 sqm block for $2.35m seven years ago.

But before they moved in they knocked down internal walls to open up living areas that now flow to a north-facing courtyard perfect for alfresco entertaining and Paul Bangay-inspired gardens.

Joshua, who is the co-founder of risk management start-up Iluminr and sold his earlier company, RiskLogic for an eight-figure sum, is apparently the green thumb.

“He’s very passionate about the garden … we’ve created a vertical wonderland for the kids, which included a veggie garden and a cubby house as well as a lawn where we had a trampoline,” Alexandra said.

The couple added bespoke joinery to the fourth bedroom, which they use as a study.

Other improvements included reconfiguring an attic room to be more liveable and adding bespoke joinery to the fourth bedroom, which they use as a study.

“It’s got a real library feel,” says Alexandra.

They also re-did the bathrooms and repainted. The Caesarstone gas kitchen has stainless-steel appliances and the master bedroom features a large walk-in wardrobe with access to a storage room.

The home has plenty of storage throughout and an internal laundry room.

The Shields family, which includes daughter Eloise, 9, and Isabella, 6, and their dog, Archie, are selling to move to a larger home in Double Bay.

The auction for 13 Walker Ave is set for November 22.
