The Block judge’s new ‘gamechanger’ gig
The Block judge Marty Fox has signed up for a new “gamechanger” gig that’s turning the tables on real estate agents.
The Block judge Marty Fox has signed up for a new “gamechanger” gig that’s turning the tables on real estate agents.
Mr Fox is renowned for offering brutal advice to Ch9’s The Block contestants over required tweaks to their homes – and now will be doing the same for home sellers, though with less drama – after signing a partnership with agentspot.com.au.
He expects it to be a “gamechanger” for sellers seeing agents have to virtually bid for sellers’ homes before the property owner is ready to sell and without knowing the owner’s identity.

“AgentSpot is a gamechanger and puts the vendor in the driver’s seat from the moment they start thinking about selling, regardless of how long down the track they are planning to divest,” the founder and CEO of real estate firm Whitefox said.
Sellers from all over Australia will be given up to five detailed property appraisals from agents in their area, which includes not just property price estimates, but selling strategies, commission rates, and marketing costs.
It’s completely private according to AgentSpot general manager Neil King, so agents won’t get the seller’s details unless the property owner decides to make contact.
“All property owners are verified before their property details are passed on to agents, ensuring that agent’s time is utilised efficiently and only on legitimate appraisal requests. The service is free for real estate agents to sign up, with a $1,000 fee payable only upon successful settlement.”
Mr King said the platform has generated strong interest.
“We’ve had hundreds of real estate agents sign up to AgentSpot from LJ Hooker, Ray White, Elders, Century 21, PRD, Harcourts, McGraths, Barry Plant and YPA.”
“We are delighted to have Marty on-board with us as we launch an exciting new way to sell your property.”
Mr Fox replaced Neale Whitaker this season who announced 15 weeks ago that he would be leaving to spend more time with his partner David who is dealing with serious health issues.
“We all hoped that by this year I would be able to return full-time to the show, but life doesn’t always run to schedule,” Mr Whitaker said when explaining his situation on Instagram.
“David gets stronger with each passing month, but my decision remains to be at home as much as possible. So while you’ll see me on Phillip Island from time to time, I’ve handed my judging sheet permanently to Marty Fox (who stepped in so brilliantly last season) and I know he will have a blast with Shaynna and Darren as I did for 17 seasons.”
