IT will be one of Sydney's largest apartment blocks and it looks set to tower over most of our famous skyline.
The new $600 million residential building by Chinese development firm, Greenland Group, was unveiled on Friday at an official cake-cutting ceremony attended by deputy Premier, Andrew Stoner, and deputy Mayor of Shanghai, Bo Zhou.
At 235m, the sizeable, but unnamed apartment block will outshine World Tower, which measures 230m, but will not be taller than Centrepoint Tower at 309m.
Located at 115 Bathurst St, the 70-storey building will neighbour a boutique hotel to be built on the former Water Board site, also a Greenland project.
David Milton, managing director for residential projects for CBRE said his company is fielding inquiries for the apartments, which could break price records in the CBD, but will most-likely start at $528,000.
Greenland Group, which was established in 1992, ranked 359 globally in 2013's Fortune 500 after recording more than $43 billion in income last year.
In the past two years, Greenland Group has begun moving into international markets in Korea, Australia, Germany, Spain, England and America.
