Larry Emdur’s big property payday
TV star Larry Emdur’s move to keep the sale of his NYC style apartment in The Rocks a family affair has paid off big time.
Channel 7 compere Larry Emdur and wife Sylvie have pocketed $4.3 million from the sale of their redundant home in The Rocks.
The warehouse conversion sold before auction through their estate agent son Jye Emdur.
The 1924 Rocks warehouse apartment had been bought for $3.19 million back in 2017 after their Dover Heights clifftop home was purchased by accountant Anthony Bell for a record-setting $11.5 million.
Set on Gloucester St near the southern end of the Harbour Bridge, the Tanner Kibble Denton Architects-designed apartment combines the original fabric of the building with a luxury New York feel. The apartment has two bedrooms, which have open ensuites.

It has been bought by Cutcher & Neale accountant Phillip Smith and his wife Kristy.
The host of Seven’s The Chase Australia and co-host of The Morning Show, Emdur is off to live in a Darling Point apartment that was bought from Naomi Penny, widow of Professor Ron Penny, the pioneer of clinical immunology who died in 2019.
The whole floor 200sq m-plus opulent apartment cost $7.351 million.

Emdur plans to launch his memoir, Happy As, in August, which looks back at him growing up in Bondi, going surfing, getting sunburnt and eating Chiko Rolls – along with his accidental path to TV hosting.
