The much-loved family home where Delta Goodrem wrote some of her most famous music is up for sale.
Lea Goodrem has made the “bittersweet” decision to sell the stunning 5-bedroom home in Sydney’s Hills District, where the family have lived for 38 years.
It has been brought to market by sales agent Michael Roberts of Louis Carr Glenhaven-Castle Hill with a price guide of around $4m.
Lea Goodrem told News Corp, the family had so many wonderful memories of the Glenhaven home, when both Delta and her brother Trent spent their childhoods, but that it was time to sell up and move on.
“I’m not 21 anymore,” she said.
“It’s been a beautiful house, such a wonderful home, full of laughter and such fantastic memories that I will always cherish. But it’s just me and the animals now. It’s time for another big family to enjoy it and all its benefits. It’s been such an incredible place to live and we are very grateful to have called this our home for so long.”

The Delavor Place home served as inspiration for and the launching pad of Delta’s career. It was where Delta, who performed at Olivia Newton-John’s state memorial on Sunday, put together her self-penned debut album Innocent Eyes and the hit Born to Try which launched her to super stardom.
“It was a home that was filled with music, lots of exciting things were happening,” Lea Goodrem said.
“The home is an oasis and we had two baby grand pianos and the music could be belted out without fear of retribution by the neighbours. There was a lot of inspiration here, a lot of music. Born to Try was written in the loungeroom.
“This is where it all happened.
Mr Roberts said the impressive home was set to be highly prized by buyers in the sought-after cul-de-sac in Glenhaven.
The home will be auctioned onsite at Saturday, April 2 at 1pm.
“It’s a unique home positioned in a quiet bush location with a fantastic design and layout that was ahead of its time,” he said.
“It’s got everything a family needs, including a tennis court and pool in a quiet bush location but close to shops and schools.

Is this Sydney’s cheapest mansion?
“It’s been recently renovated and will no doubt be in high demand given Glenhaven is short on stock but quality houses like this one are always wanted.”
Lea Goodrem plans to spend some time travelling before settling down again, likely downsizing nearby.
“I’m sure I will miss it but it’s time for another family to enjoy it,” she said.
“For this house to be filled with joy and laughter again. It’s the perfect sanctuary.
“I hope whoever buys it will love it as much as we have.
“But I’m not getting any younger. I need something more manageable. It’s a bittersweet decision. But the kids understand, it’s time to move on.”
The home sits on over 4000 sqm and also boasts a study, 4 bathrooms and three car spots,” the listing reads.
“This flawlessly presented contemporary home is privately set on over 4,000m2 parcel of land with an enviable north to rear yard and tranquil bush backdrop.
“The architecturally designed contemporary family residence boasts an expansive layout with sun drenched formal and casual living zones with vaulted ceilings.
“Offering a wonderful choice of entertaining options including huge alfresco area, inground pool, championship tennis court plus indoor spa and sauna, all creating a private oasis to relax or entertain any small or large gathering.
“Located in a private family friendly cul-de-sac within the hub of convenience and nestled amongst natural bush surrounds.
