Actor Sacha Baron Cohen and his expatriate wife, Isla Fisher, have been spotted looking at a luxury home just a few doors away from cricket legend Steve Smith. And it has a rare feature.

Actor Sacha Baron Cohen and his expatriate wife, Isla Fisher, have been spotted looking at an $8.5m luxury house in Vaucluse just a few doors away from cricket legend Steve Smith.

And the property has a rare feature — a squash court in the back yard.

The Borat star and former Home And Away actor moved from LA to Sydney last year, and have been renting the $14.6m Vaucluse home of Fischer’s mate, JS Well being founder Jessica Sepel and her co-founder husband Dean Steingold.

The residence that’s sparked their interest is a six-bedroom, five-bathroom residence with double garage, pool and iconic harbour views — plus squash court — at 91 Kings Road, which is up for auction on March 22 with an $8.5m price guide.

The pool is one of the attractions …

… a squash court is another.

Smith bought his mansion for $6.5m a few years ago, but it’s not known if being Smithy’s neighbour was part of the appeal — or the squash court.

The sales agent, Laing and Simmons principal Steven Zoellner, sounded shocked when contacted, although sources confirmed the couple had toured the property.

Zoellner said he couldn’t comment on the identity of buyers who had been through, but said 70 groups have inspected the home over the past few weeks.

The property also has iconic harbour views …

… and impressive architecture.

“A number of buyers like the house, and we have hand an offer but the owner wants to go to auction,” he said.

Property records show the home on the 768 sqm block is owned by property developer Sergei Golubeva and his wife Anna, who bought it for $5.3m in 2005.

The previous owner Jillian Levy commissioned the Sorin Dascalu-designed massive renovation.

If Baron Cohen and Fisher are interested, they can expect some solid competition in the current strong prestige market. Zoellner is known to have sold a home at 25 Village High Road offmarket for $10.8m recently, while LJ Hooker Double Bay’s David Malouf is rumoured to have sold 59 Village High Road for about $7m.
