It is one of a pair of 1885 Victorian Italianate terraces.
The Birchgrove Road terrace was Fraser’s childhood home.
Her parents Kenneth and Rose had moved into the then working class peninsula in the 1930s. She attended Birchgrove Primary with her siblings, then later Leichardt Home Science School.
Of course the nearby harbour pool is named after her, given she was the winner of four gold and four silver Olympic Games medals. In later years she was the licensee at the nearby Tooth Brewery local, the Riverview Hotel, in the late 1970s, and she became the Independent member for Balmain for a term in the late 1980s.
The family lives in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland, as Fraser suffers from severe asthma.
The terrace comprises of an open plan living/dining space leading through to an eat-in kitchen and a paved outdoor courtyard. The third level has the main bedroom with balcony with water views.
