Qld agent channels Barbie to sell ‘dream house’ in North Qld
Introducing Real Estate Barbie! A Queensland property agent has channelled the iconic doll to sell a house, in the latest ‘daggy’ listing from an agency that likes to clown around.
Introducing Real Estate Barbie! A Queensland property agent has channelled the iconic doll to help sell a suburban house in North Queensland.
And it offers “hot girl walks on The Strand”.
It is the latest listing video from an agency not afraid to be “daggy” to get a property noticed.
Capitalising on the release of the movie starring Queensland’s own Margot Robbie as Barbie and Canadian Ryan Gosling as Ken, Cutting Edge Property agent Abigail Fairbanks decided to play up in pink to market a house in Burdell, a suburb of Townsville.
“Honestly I was more into monster trucks but I would steal my sisters Barbies to go in the trucks,” Ms Fairbanks said.
“Secretly I’ve always wanted to be Barbie for a day.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing the movie and I saw a pink dress in the shops and it just clicked.”
In the tongue-and-cheek listing video, Abigail enters the house in heels, kicks them off at the door, and in typical Barbie fashion, walks down the hall on her tiptoes.
“Barbie found her dream house and yours could be right here at 28 Saba St in Burdell,” she says, with dog Bruno by her side.
Offering three bedrooms, the modern and move-in ready house is close to walking tracks, shops and has an entertainers kitchen if “you like to party like Barbie”.
“There’s plenty of space to get your friends over for a barbie-cue,” she says.
“In your Barbie dream house you’ve got to have a fabulous ensuite with a double shower.
“It’s perfect for those mornings when Ken is taking too long to get ready.”
Abigail is then seen stiffly posed in the bath tub, heels included, adding there is “plenty of room for those self care Sundays”.
On a 451sq m block, Abigail says “you’ll love living in Barbie’s world, I mean Burdell” with a new tavern around the corner for a Sunday Malibu Barbie.
“When it’s time to do hot girl walks at The Strand, it’s only a 20 minute drive away,” she says.
The agency is known for its unique videos, with Cutting Edge director Rob Levy not afraid to be a bit daggy to get a property noticed.
In November last year, Rob, hairy chest on full display, poised on a large pink flamingo to market a house with a pool in Townsville.
The video oozed ‘cheese’, leaving the question, who was the inspo? Zoolander or Borat?
“It is really just me being a dag,” he said at the time.
“Cutting Edge is a really weird agency insofar as that we do what we have to do to bring attention to a property.

For a “dated property” in Kirwan, the Cutting Edge team “went back to the 80s”, complete with Bro-mos, band T-shirts and Op shop wigs.
In another video, a whole listing video is sung (badly) to the tune of That’s Amore, while for a house built by a builder in Burdell, there was a Minion and Bob the Builder, even a bedtime story.
“If I look like a clown, well that’s irrelevant if I get eyeballs on a property,” Rob said.
“We do videos for every property, from the ones listed for $200,000 to the $1 million-plus ones.
“We like to have a bit of fun.”
