SEASONED investors to confused first time buyers signed on this afternoon to ask property guru Damian Collins all their real estate questions.

The Momentum Wealth managing director answered PerthNow reader queries from “do you expect any impact on the Australian property market if the property bubble in China burst?” to “I’ve never bought a house ... where the hell do I start?”.

To Jason, who asked which suburbs the expert would recommend looking at for capital growth and rental yield, Mr Collins said: “We look for properties in close proximity to transport amenities and lifestyle opportunities”.

“It depends on your budget, however, I’d recommend areas such as Craigie, Dianella and on the south side Hamilton Hill.”

To Moni, who asked whether it was a good time to buy in Mandurah, Mr Collins said “Mandurah is recovering after a long downturn over the last five years”.

“I don’t see the market there declining, so if you’re looking to buy, I’d be buying now.”
