Malaysian king puts his Australian property on the market
LIVE like a king in the Australian home built for Malaysian royalty.
For seven years this discreet and elegant property has been home to Malaysian royalty.
Created as a home-away-from-home while his four children attended school in Perth, the home was purpose built for its royal Malaysian owner.
The home in Dianella St — which bears the same name as a seaport on the island of Borneo, near Indonesia — has seven bedrooms and six bathrooms.
The sultan, who has asked not to be named for security reasons, commissioned the property in 2007.
When his role changed in 2011-2012, the sultan’s needs changed and the property is now on the market.
The owner has always maintained a soft spot for his little slice of Perth paradise.
“It’s an attractive neighbourhood surrounded by high-quality homes and neighbours and very
well located to schools and other conveniences,” the sultan said through his personal assistant.
Malaysia’s second-youngest king, the sultan said he loved Perth and that his late father had
also been a regular visitor to the state.
The house needed to suit the family’s regal lifestyle and accommodate the king’s various bodyguards and child carers.
With four of the bedrooms being triple-sized and featuring bathrooms fitted with rainwater showers, the home maintains its luxury air.
There is a theatre and games rooms.
But for the sultan, his favourite feature was always his bedroom which takes up an entire wing.
The bedroom has a balcony, grand ensuite, studio retreat and its own office area.
Erit David of Equinox Realty who is marketing the property said the home had a grand combination of unique elements “where you too can feel like a king and queen”.
