Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond has already received “multiple offers above $200m” for his Point Piper mansion Wingadal, reliable sources say.

The Alec Tzannes-designed waterfront residence on 2,676 sqm — the size of four normal housing blocks — at 2 Wingadal Pl hit the market on May 1 with hopes of more than $200m.

Yet a separate industry source advises Symond’s dream price is $240m — “and he’ll probably get it,” the source added, who said one of the offers on the table was $206m.

The sales agents charged with selling Wingadal are Brad Pillinger of Pillinger and Ken Jacobs of Forbes.

When contacted this morning, Mr Pillinger refused to comment about the speculation.

Mr Jacobs is overseas, but last week he advised he wouldn’t be discussing the campaign.

Instead, he offered this comment about the top-end market: “There’s some strong international inquiry but that hasn’t crystallised into sales yet.”

Mr Symond bought the land for $10.5m in 1999 and commissioned Mr Tzannes for the four-level residence that took eight years to build.

The property was briefly on the market in 2017 and despite an offer of $110m, Mr Symond opted to keep it.

At the time of its most recent listing, Mr Symond said: “Wingadal has been a special home for my family over the past two decades, and now I’m looking forward to spending more time travelling overseas.

“While being an exceptional family home, we have also enjoyed hosting many important events for charities and other worthwhile causes.”

The retired mortgage broker is understood to have quietly bought Roc et Mer, a retreat on the Mediterranean at Eze-sur-Mer.

Costing $22.4m, it’s set on a waterfront cliff between Nice and Monaco looking out towards the tip of the Saint Jean Cap Ferrat peninsula and along the coast.

Sunday Confidential wrote in May a “heartbroken” Symond was moving to the south of France after his divorce from ex-wife Amber Symond.

The Point Piper mansion also obviously has dream views, too, taking in the Opera House and Bridge.

It also features entertaining areas for 500 people, undercover parking for 20 cars (eight inside the garage), four bedrooms plus a two-bedroom apartment, a pool, a wine cellar for 2500 bottles, a theatre with seats for 22 people and two commercial kitchens.

The current national house record is $130m for Point Piper’s Uig Lodge, bought in late 2022 by Atlassian co-founder Scott Farquhar.

That surpassed the $100m that Atlassian’s other co-founder, Mike Cannon-Brookes, paid for the Fairwater estate in 2018.
