Mosman trophy home inspired by a tree sells for close to $20m
A designer Sydney trophy home that was inspired by the ‘embrace’ of a native tree has sold for a gobsmacking price.
Dilcara construction company director Antoine Gittany and his wife Barbara Zitianellis have secured close to their $20m asking price for the ultra-modern Mosman trophy home at 3 Pursell Ave.
After buying the original Federation bungalow on the 1034sq m block for $4.42m in 2019, the pair set about creating a contemporary marvel under the expertise of Ursino Architects and Made by Alas Design Studio.
Spread over three levels, the luxury residence, which was completed in 2021, features two above-ground floors and a subterranean eight-vehicle custom garage.

The design was inspired by an existing native tree on the site that had to stay — two wings of the house wrap around it.
There are five bedrooms, four marble bathrooms and multiple minimalist entertaining spaces inside and out, as well as a grand pool and sweeping harbour views with landscaping by EcoDesign.
Gemma Simons of Ray White Lower North Shore, who brokered the sale alongside colleague Sabrina Gao, says she was “delighted and incredibly proud to have been part of the process and team that brought the sale together” for both the vendors and their purchasers.
Tight-lipped about who those buyers were, rumour has it the new custodians of the Pursell Ave property are locals from Seaforth.
“They built an incredible house and you’ll never see another one like it until he does the next one,” Simons says.
