Buxton, Newtown agent Tom Butters said the buyers had checked out a number of properties in the area but couldn’t go past the stunning home.

“They’re a young family looking to move down from Melbourne to get their kids into a good school down here,” Mr Butters said.

“They loved it.

“Their kids are still very young, they’d been looking in Geelong and wanted to secure a good piece of real estate.”

Mr Butters said the quality of the work impressed the buyers.

“They looked at a few properties with us and they said you just can’t go past the work that has been done in there.”

He said the seller was a builder who had done a beautiful job throughout.

“It was an old Edwardian home and they’d left the front and built a complete kitchen and living room, and upstairs was two bedrooms and a double garage.

“So they had done a full job — extension and makeover. But they kept the beautiful facade and extended it out.”
