Tyrone Urban Barn: Stylish Camberwell design hits market
With a black timber facade and pristine Scandinavian style inside, this self-described “urban barn” boasts plenty of luxury edge — different to what you’d usually find in the affluent leafy ‘burb.
An urban barn has been created as a serene sanctuary in the heart of Melbourne’s east.
The brand-new masterpiece at 4 Tyrone St, Camberwell has an alluring black timber facade that gives little away about the modern marvel within.
After being completed less than a year ago, the standout package is on the market with a $4.4-$4.6 million.

CoreLogic records indicate Tyrone Urban Barn would be the suburb’s most expensive sale so far in 2020.
Jellis Craig Boroondara agent Cameron Edgoose said the “cathedral ceilings, use of concrete, wood and giant sliding doors” added country-style charm to an otherwise contemporary home.
“Camberwell has a lot of traditional and French provincial homes, but nothing else like this,” Mr Edgoose said.
“It’s quite a simple look from the outside when driving past, but once you step inside it’s even more impressive.”
The Heartly Design Studio build boasts minimalist Scandinavian style across two storeys, including a light-filled living domain under soaring ceilings with a stone kitchen, bar, fireplace and polished concrete floors. There are four bedrooms, two studies and an ultra-cool games room perfect for a ping pong or billiards table.
Soak in the sun from the low-maintenance gardens, which include a lavish pool next to a covered alfresco area with built-in barbecue. There’s also a second living area upstairs, double garage and a mud room.
The property has been listed for private sale.
