Striking Highton home earns top dollar in quick sale
Buyers were quick to pounce on a striking Highton home in a deal eclipsing price hopes, with a renovated Geelong West house also snapped up as families scramble to upgrade.
A striking Highton home lasted barely a day on the market before a motivated buyer snapped it up.
The four-bedroom residence at 2 Woolondoon Drive sold for $1.3m after negotiation with the buyer following the first inspection.
Buxton Highton agent Roger Pedretti said the two-storey house attracted 16 groups to its first, and only, inspection before the buyer made a move.

“They went away and thought about it, and then got back to me with figure shortly after,” Mr Pedretti said.
After contacting the other groups to gauge further interest, Mr Pedretti said he asked his vendors what price would they prepared to take their home off the market so early in the campaign.
“They said $1.3m would do it,” he said.
“It just ticked all the boxes for the buyer. It’s a really nice home, it’s got a nice feel to it, very spacious and open plan.
“The yard is not very big, which I thought was going to be the challenge, but this buyer didn’t need a big back yard.”
The custom design makes the most of its elevation position opposite parkland that casts a view across the Barrabool Hills to the Barwon River.
“It’s got a really sharp facade that is striking and people are attracted to that. Something that’s a bit different,” Mr Pedretti said.
“It’s got some really nice views over the little reserve there. So even though it’s got a small yard, you still have the flexibility of using the reserve.”
The home showcases modern interiors with high end finishes across multiple living and entertaining zones.

Mr Pedretti said the market has been strong for bigger houses in the new part of Highton, where some homes are approaching 15 years.
Jellis Craig Geelong agent Malinda Leonard said strong interest was also evident at the get-go when a renovated home at 24 Crofton St, Geelong West, hit the market.
The four-bedroom residence attracted 16 groups and elicited three offers when the home was first opened to the public, Ms Leonard said.
The house had been listed with $1.1m to $1.2m price hopes, selling for $1.175m after a few days on the market.
Ms Leonard said the key demographic was growing families who were in the market to upgrade to a bigger home.
“It was four bedrooms, two bathrooms, so they were families in the late 30s to 40s who were having their second child and needing more room,” she said.
“I literally could have sold it seven times over – there’s just not enough of that stock at the minute. It’s was neat as a pin and it just went off.”
The weatherboard character home occupies a 390sq m block, but the 1925 Californian bungalow was transformed through an extension that added an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, with a pergola extended off the back.
Four bedrooms, including a converted study, were on offer.
