Ruslan Kogan: Tech entrepreneur spends $15m on neighbouring Flinders properties
Tech entrepreneur Ruslan Kogan didn’t stop with this mansion — he also snapped up the property next door.
Tech entrepreneur Ruslan Kogan has splashed a combined $15m on neighbouring Mornington Peninsula properties.
The Australian reported this week the deep-pocketed Kogan.com founder and chief executive had spent $12.91m on a Stephen Akehurst-designed manor on 5.2ha on Musk Creek Road, Flinders.
This marked the property’s first sale since it was built three decades ago.
But the Herald Sun can now reveal he also secured an adjoining 4.38ha property for $2.09m.

CoreLogic records show both properties changed hands on October 20 and settled earlier this month, while title documents name a company owned by Kogan as the new owner.
Peninsula Sotheby’s managing director Rob Curtain is listed as the selling agent for both, but he declined to comment when contacted by the Herald Sun.
It’s understood the properties will serve as a getaway from his Toorak mansion on a substantial 2600sq m block, which he paid $38.8m for in 2018.
That deal was one of the biggest residential sales Victoria had ever seen.
The two Musk Creek Road properties were initially listed with another agency as one big package, sprawling across two titles and more than 9ha, in 2019. The listing offered a five-bedroom mansion with an indoor pool, plus a retreat with three bedrooms, sheds, workshops, paddocks, two dams and a mod-grass tennis court.
They had a $17.5m asking price that, if achieved, would have broken Flinders’ residential property record.
The benchmark was set at $17m in 2017 by Miramar at 2270 Mornington-Flinders Road — a butterfly-shaped seven-bedroom home on 29.7ha.
The property was built by members of one of Australia’s richest families, Daniel and Danielle Besen, and bought by Good Guys boss Andrew Muir.
Mr Curtain also inked that deal, and the Herald Sun last year named the property among Victoria’s Top 50 Homes.
