First-home buyers spark six-way contest as cute renovation steals hearts
First-home buyers dominated the auction of a cute weatherboard home with nothing to do that stole hearts in Manifold Heights.
A RENOVATED two-bedroom house in Manifold Heights has sold for $585,500 after sparking a six-way bidding war at auction.
First-home buyers made up the majority of those keen on the freshly updated weatherboard house at 308 Aberdeen St.
Ray White, Highton agent Adam Natonewski said bidding opened at $460,000 on Saturday as buyers looked past the busy location to the appealing facade and stylish interior.

The competition pushed the price above the $500,000 to $550,000 expected range.
“It was a busy spot but it was a really well received and it had a great vibe about it,” Mr Natonewski said.
“We had six bidders and most of them were first-home buyers.”
The renovation highlights the houses’s original character, with features such as leadlight windows, Baltic pine floors and a exposed brick chimney — the centrepiece of the open-plan living and dining room.
The revamped floorplan maximises space where it counts, in the kitchen and shared bathroom.
There’s also space for entertaining on the rear deck, plus a single carport and private front garden that creates privacy from the street.
