An Eaglemont house renowned for parties thrown by Collingwood legend and professional wrestler Murray ‘Wild Man’ Weideman is for sale.

The Magpies’ 1958 Premiership acting captain, Weideman lived at 6 Hawdon St between 1960 and 1965.

Also known as ‘The Enforcer’ and ‘The Weed’, Weideman made his Collingwood debut in the fifties.

In 1962, he briefly became a professional wrestler under the name ‘Wild Man Weideman’.

He won the Copeland Trophy for Collingwood’s best and fairest player four times and coached West Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League from 1968 to 1971.

Weideman’s son Mark played for West Adelaide and his grandson Sam is an Essendon player.

Nelson Alexander’s Liz Walker said the five-bedroom property’s current owners, including a Collingwood supporter, bought the home in 2008.

Neighbours told them the house had previously belonged to Weideman.

“According to the neighbours, Murray loved his parties, apparently he was renowned for them,” Ms Walker said.

She said the house’s built-in bar, outdoor spa and in-ground pool next to a resort-style cabana deck offered plenty of options for entertaining.

“It’s a fully-renovated family home that’s move-in ready,” Ms Walker added.

The open-plan living and dining areas boast timber floorboards, while the kitchen features a mirrored splashback, walk-in pantry, induction cooktop, dual ovens, dishwasher and stone benchtops.

Other highlights include a home theatre room, the main bathroom’s “fabulous sauna” and a carport and lockup garage.

“You can easily fit two cars in there, three at a squeeze,” Ms Walker said.

“Or, if you’ve got lots of Collingwood merchandise which your wife won’t let you have in the house, you could put it out there.”
