Dave Hughes lists Josh and Elyse’s The Block Elsternwick winner for rent
Blockheads have the chance to live the dream. Dave Hughes is looking for a tenant for the fully furnished $3m house that won the season for model Elyse Knowles and her partner, Josh.
Dave Hughes is seeking a tenant for the $3 million Elsternwick house he famously bought on The Block.
The comedian is asking $2000 per week for the residence that won Josh Barker and Elyse Knowles the 2017 season of the reality reno show.
Whoever rents 46A Regent St will need to lodge a $10,000 bond and be able to move in from May 23, according to the realestate.com.au listing, which describes the five-bedroom residence as “one of Elsternwick’s finest homes”. It’s being offered fully furnished.

The Block contestants sent home amid coronavirus lockdown
Hughesy bought the revamped California bungalow at a televised auction in October 2017 for $3.067 million — $447,000 above the reserve set by Channel 9.
Barker and Knowles took home this sum, plus a $100,000 winners’ bonus, in prize money.
The couple now runs building and design company J&E Projects from its Byron Bay base, while model Knowles is also an ambassador for Myer, Land Rover Australia and several other brands.
The Hughesy, We Have A Problem host described the property as “a brilliant house in a brilliant spot” after winning the auction.
Belle Property St Kilda agent Nicholas Horswood said the “famous house” was ideally set up for families during COVID-19, featuring a home office in the main section for parents and a retreat above the three-car garage for the kids to study or get some space.
“I wouldn’t see anyone other than a family wanting to rent a five-bedroom, four-bathroom house,” he said.
“Within 24 hours, we had six inquiries. The rental market isn’t that hot right now, so that’s pretty positive.”
The open-plan living and dining area features a fireplace with a “floating concrete hearth”, remote-control blinds and a gourmet kitchen with a butler’s pantry.
The room opens out to the backyard designed by acclaimed landscaper Dave Franklin to contain an “app-controlled spa pool” and a barbecue deck.
The home’s other highlights include the downstairs bathroom with sleek circular bath, and the upstairs main bedroom with a dressing room, ensuite and sitting area.
Blockheads looking to buy rather than rent a piece of The Block can secure a South Melbourne apartment transformed by Matt and Kim Di Costa on the 2013 Sky High series, for $2-$2.2 million.
The contestants on the show’s upcoming season were sent home in March amid fears of state border closures during the coronavirus crisis, but the Brighton construction site remained active.
“Our aim is to get everything up and running as soon as we can to deliver the show when we intended,” executive producer Julian Cress said at the time.
