A two-bedroom 1850s miner’s cottage converted to an Airbnb complete with a lavish outdoor bath has gone under contract after sellers accepted an offer subject to finance.

The home at 10 McNicol St, Geelong West, has been transformed over the past two years in a renovation that’s not only stripped back paint and repaired original brickwork, but has created a stunning inner city home that celebrates the early Geelong heritage.

Neighbours said it was built by two brothers at the same time as a neighbouring house separated by a private laneway.

Ms Warren placed a $750,000 vendor bid at the auction, before the hopeful buyers placed a $760,000 offer before the property was passed in.

Ms Warren said the hopeful buyer worked in the city.

‘The home has been updated throughout, absolutely painstakingly renovated from head to toe,” she said.

“You can see the benefits to enjoy for the next owner as all the hard work is done. It is ready for you to simply enjoy and move in.”

It’s a picture-perfect facade, while inside the home showcases restored original timber flooring, high ceilings and an open fireplace in the front lounge.

The home’s refurbished family and dining area and kitchen include an array of stunning features including original exposed brickwork, as well as modern finishes such as stone benchtops, high-end appliances, and stylish feature tiles.

The house has two bedrooms that share a renovated light and bright main bathroom with chrome fixtures.

Outside, the private gardens at the rear of the home complement the outdoor, decked entertaining space which features a luxurious outdoor bath and in-built seating, providing a variety of entertaining options.

It last sold for $590,000 prior to the renovation.

The property provides an inner-city lifestyle with Geelong city, Geelong train station, Pakington St and the Waterfront only moments away.

Ms Warren said it has been used for short-stay accommodation.

“They’ve had it as an Airbnb and it was pretty well booked out when they had it on the app for the last few months,” she said.

“It’s the sweetest place, I’ve loved spending last four weeks there.

“Like you can imagine, obviously, we spend so much time at other people’s houses, but that one’s actually just been so fun.”
