It was love at first sight for local buyers who pounced on a builder’s own home in Jan Juc the moment it hit the market.
A BUILDER’S own home with 180-degree ocean views in Jan Juc has been snapped up for $1.35 million after just two days on the market.
Links Property, Torquay agent Lynne Hayden said the local buyers were “waiting in the wings” from the moment they spotted the forthcoming sale sign go up outside 47a Great Ocean Road, Jan Juc.

She said they made contact as soon as the five-bedroom house hit the market and pounced after the first inspection.
“It was the perfect house for them,” Ms Hayden said.
“They were local and it was a holiday home purchase. They are from a really big Italian family and their parents live here and their family will use the house.”
The two-storey house is on a 535sq m block on the corner of Duffields Rd and offers sweeping sea views from the main living area and main bedroom on the first floor.
It also comes with a self-contained studio that has provided a holiday accommodation income.
Ms Hayden said the 10-year-old house presented as new, which was a testament to the quality of the build.
“It really had 180-degree ocean views and because it sat on the highest part of the hill it can’t be built out,” she said.
“It house turns its back on the road and opens up to the ocean.”
High raked ceilings and hardwood floors are key features of the open-plan kitchen, dining and living room that links to a deck for outdoor entertaining.
There’s a second living area downstairs, plus three further bedrooms and a double garage.
