Brunswick Beyonce house for sale after total transformation

Queen Bey fans take note: the ultimate piece of Aussie Beyonce memorabilia is up for grabs. The Brunswick house the superstar filmed in front of in 2013 is for sale after a total transformation.

A full scale renovation has made the property almost unrecognisable.

Hold up! There’s something familiar about this Brunswick house.

A complete renovation may have left 20 Beith St virtually unrecognisable, but look closely and you’ll make out the previously ramshackle property pop queen Beyonce filmed part of her No Angel video clip in front of in 2013 while she was in Melbourne for concerts at Rod Laver Arena.

The three-bedroom property had been scheduled to be auctioned on April 8 with a $1.2-$1.3 million asking price.

It last sold for $650,000 in early 2016, while still in the dilapidated state immortalised in the film clip.

The vendor at the time, octogenarian Jeanette Meadows, famously had no idea who Beyonce was when she accepted $300 for the music icon to shoot in front of her house.

“When the man knocked on my door to ask if they could use my house to do the photos, I thought he said they were with his fiance, not Beyonce,” she told the Herald Sun at the time.

But Ms Meadows fell Crazy in Love with the global superstar after watching a Beyonce impersonator light up her auction, as her then-property sold well above the $470,000-$510,000 price guide.

Nelson Alexander Brunswick agent Carl Sacco said one of Ms Meadows’ neighbours was the buyer.

“They renovated to live in but decided against it,” Mr Sacco said.

“It’s virtually a rebuilt house – quite spacious and full of natural light.”
