Ben Holland: Former Tiger and Demon looking for Prahran tenant
Ben Holland is moving on from his bachelor pad turned family home of the past 20 years, which has come a long way from “the big screen TV and couches” he had in the beginning. Check it out.
Former Tiger and Demon Ben Holland is moving on from his bachelor pad turned family home of the past 20 years.
The 191-game player is on the hunt for a tenant for the stylish property at 11 Chomley Street, Prahran, which last changed hands for $430,500 in 1999, CoreLogic records show.
Now director of the Victorian Podiatry Group, Holland told the Herald Sun his family loved the local area so much he, wife Kiera Hannigan and their three children William, 4, Grace, 2, and Annabelle, 3 months, were moving just four streets away as they upsized.

“It’s just really convenient, you can walk down to Chapel Street and jump down to St Kilda Beach pretty easily, and you’re not quite in the hustle and bustle of Chapel as well; it’s pretty much on the border of Armadale,” he said.
“When I was playing at Melbourne, it wasn’t too hard to get down to Junction Oval and at Richmond it was the same thing, a short drive or a 15-minute cycle.
“It’s been my bachelor pad that’s just sort of evolved.
“I got married in 2014, and now we’ve got three kids we just needed to upsize. I renovated it in 2011 when I finished footy and made it a bit more liveable.
“It’s an old Edwardian so it had really nice high ceilings but it was a bit pokey out the back, so I cut off the back pretty much, did the bathrooms, kitchen, open-plan living area and created a courtyard out the back with a bit of a garden as well – a bit nicer than the big screen TV and couches I had as a bachelor.”
Pride Real Estate director Charlie Clemons said young families had shown strong interest in the rental listing, available for $900 a week.
“The open-plan living area is a real highlight with northerly sun and opening out to a really good sized backyard, perfect for families and playing in the backyard,” he said.
