Which regional markets are outperforming the rest?

Buyers with an eye for architecture have snapped up a striking home behind Queenscliff’s Santa Casa Beach with dress circle views of ships passing through Port Phillip Heads.

The four-bedroom house at 5/43 Flinders St, Queenscliff, has been secured in a deal understood to be close to $3.5m after the property was listed with $3.6m to $3.85m price hopes, making it the most expensive home sale in the Bellarine Peninsula town in 2024.

RT Edgar, Point Lonsdale agent Felix Hakins said the buyers were architects from Melbourne who had secured the property on a short settlement but he couldn’t disclose the price.

“They are looking at moving down to do a bit of work on a home business. It just ticked all the boxes for them,” Mr Hakins said.

The tri-level home will allow occupants to enjoy the sights and sounds of the mesmerising ocean view from the secluded position.

Watching ships pass through The Heads from the comfort of your own living room is just one of the delights awaiting the new owners of the four-bedroom residence where the vista spans from Point Nepean to Point Lonsdale Lighthouse.

With Lovers Walk passing directly past the property, it also provides unrivalled access to the area’s pristine beaches and natural environment.

Walls of glass facing the southern elevation of the residence are designed to capitalise on the position, especially in the open-plan living area on the top floor.

A well-appointed kitchen anchors the dining and lounge area, which has nautical touches such as a stainless-steel wire balustrade to the central staircase.

Clerestory windows on the other two walls allows even more light to flood this space that looks over treetops at the back into town.

A sliding door allows residents to step out to a balcony that shows the peak of the waves at Santa Casa beach below and the ships navigating The Rip above.

The cedar decks to the south and north also provide options for outdoor entertaining.

There’s another ocean-facing balcony accessible from two of the four bedrooms, including the main suite, on the first floor below.

At ground level there’s an oversized double garage with great storage capacity and the possibility of installing a lift.

Other features include ducted heating, reverse-cycle airconditioning and a security system.
