Anakie buyers wrap up Gherang’s most expensive sale in multimillion-dollar deal
Horse enthusiasts have saddled up for a luxury rural hideaway that’s become Gherang’s most expensive real estate sale.
BUYERS have splashed out on a luxury country lifestyle property that’s set a new price record for Gherang.
The 80ha equestrian paradise at 155 Crafters Rd sold for $2.65 million after attracting interest from across Melbourne and Geelong.
Richardson, Geelong agent Matt Poustie said it came down to a two-horse race, with buyers from Anakie securing the renovated four-bedroom house with an envy-worthy 20m lap pool.

“They were looking for a really high quality equine property and it has shedding and a dressage arena and the paddocks were very well structured,” Mr Poustie said.
“The house had a quite significant renovation and a beautiful pool, the views from the pool were ridiculous.”
The custom-built sandstone house has views over Mount Moriac and all the blue chip trimmings, including a private bitumen road, double glazed windows and hardwood timer floors.
The property was first listed before Christmas but Mr Poustie said offers during the initial expressions of interest campaign fell short of the mark.
“Two buyers were pretty hot on it from Melbourne but they just wouldn’t commit to making the purchase,” he said.
“In the end it really came to a couple keen on the horse infrastructure.”
Mr Poustie said the sale set a new price benchmark for Gherang and reflected strong competition for lifestyle listings across the board.
“Rural lifestyle properties are moving really well at the moment,” he said.
“I have got no end of buyers.”
He said this one particularly appealed to the buyers because it was only a 30-minute drive to Geelong.
