Albert Park house with tower: Local landmark for sale
Climb to the top of the turret at this 1880s landmark house, which has a special connection to the waterfront suburb’s history and is being offered for the first time in nearly 30 years.
A grand brick turret central to this Albert Park Victorian has made it a landmark to local residents.
Lawler House, at 92 Page St, has hit the market for the first time in almost 30 years with a $7-$7.5 million price guide.
Greg Hocking Holdsworth director Warwick Gardiner said the tall square tower was built by the original owner in the 1880s.

“The gentleman was a sailor and it was built so his family could go up to the top and look out over Port Phillip Bay to see the boats,” Mr Gardiner said.
“While Beaconsfield Parade has now been built up, at the time you could see right across to the water.”
A spiral staircase still leads to the top, where views of the city and glimpses of the bay can be enjoyed.
Mr Gardiner said the tower had created a “unique facade” that was well-known to people who lived nearby. Families had shown interest in the four-bedroom home, which is scheduled for auction on March 21.
A renovation in 2008 added ultra-modern features, such as automated glass doors that connect a spacious living domain with the backyard pool and spa.
A glass-balustrade staircase, marble kitchen with built-in wine fridge, and a self-contained unit and triple garage at the rear are other features for owners to enjoy.
The property is 600sq m and includes four car spaces, which Mr Gardiner said was unusually large for the area.
CoreLogic records show the home last changed hands for $500,000 in 1992.
