Melania Trump has confirmed she and her son, Barron Trump, will be living part-time at the White House during her husband Donald’s second presidency, ending months of speculation.

In an interview with Fox News’s “Fox & Friends”, the incoming first lady, 54, said that she and the New York University student, 18, plan to divide their time between Washington, DC, New York City and the family’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida.

“I will be in the White House, and when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach,” she said.

“But my first priority is, you know, to be a mum, to be a first lady, to be a wife, and once we are in on Jan 20, you serve the country.”

Nicknamed the “Winter White House,” Mar-a-Lago has been Donald’s primary residence since 2019 after raising Barron at his Trump Tower triplex penthouse in Midtown Manhattan, Page Six reports.

Melania noted that Barron, who is enrolled at NYU’s prestigious Stern School of Business, will “come visit” the White House as often as he wants.

The proud mum said the teen can stay over and bring friends whenever he sees fit.

“I feel that children, we have them ’til they are like 18, 19 years old. We teach them, we guide them. and then we give them the wings to fly,” she said.

“And I always respect Barron’s yes and no and what he likes to do, where he would like to be.”

Back in November, a source close to the Trumps told People that Melania was “not likely” to make the White House her main residence.

“If Melania becomes first lady again, of course people expect her to move into the White House and perform appropriate duties,” the source said.

“She will have her private living apartment there, and she has her home in New York, and her home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.

“She will spend time in all of these places.”

According to Newsweek, Donald Trump met with President Joe Biden after the election to begin the transition process.

However, Melania did not meet with first lady Jill Biden, sparking speculation about her intentions to return to the White House.

Melania shared on “Fox & Friends” that she is much more prepared to move into the White House this time than she was the first time her husband took office in 2017.

“The difference is I know where I will be going. I know the rooms, where we will be living, I know the process,” she explained.

“The first time was challenging. We didn’t have much of the information.”

Melania claimed the “previous administration” did not share the information they needed before moving in last time, referring to former President Barack Obama.

“But this time I have everything. I have the plans, I could move in, I already packed, I already selected, you know, the furniture that needs to go in. So it’s a very different transition this time, second time around,” she said.

The former and future FLOTUS admitted she will make “a little bit” of changes to the decor but “not much” since the last time she moved into the President’s Palace.

Melania said that on Jan 20 the transition team will have just five hours to move current President Biden’s belongings out of the White House and her family’s possessions in.

“So everything needs to be planned to the minute,” she shared.

Earlier this month, Amazon announced plans to film a documentary about Melania Trump to give a behind-the-scenes look at her return to the White House, the New York Post reports,

The former supermodel claims the project was her idea and that she tasked her team to “go out and make a deal for me” on that.

The documentary comes on the heels of her memoir, “Melania,” becoming a bestseller last year.

“I think it will be an exciting four years,” she concluded. “We have a lot to do putting the country back in shape.”
