Mark Zuckerberg vs. Elon Musk cage fight: Homes and training arenas revealed
It’s the fight everyone is talking about. And while the world waits to see if it happens, take a look inside what may give Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg an edge in the ring.
It’s the fight everyone is talking about that may never happen – Musk vs. Zuckerberg.
The hype has continued with heated discussions around whether a cage fight will go ahead between Meta Platforms chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg, 39, and Tesla/Space X CEO Elon Musk, 52.
Zuckerberg, who initially challenged Musk, recently slammed his fellow tech billionaire for not being “serious” and claimed he had put out a fight date of August 26.

If the fight ever happens, Zuckerberg could have the edge with youth on his side, a blue belt in jiu-jitsu and a recent training session with UFC stars Israel Adesanya and Alex Volkanovski who he invited to his home.
Then again Musk has been hard at it with an image of him training with Georges St Pierre emerging on social media in July.
As speculation continues, a look into the property portfolio of both billionaire businessmen reveals potential training sites and their worlds away from the spotlight.
If it was a battle of real estate portfolios – past and present – both men have splashed the cash on some grand estates with some unique features.
In one corner … Zuckerberg has a booming portfolio worth around $400m with properties in Palo Alto in California, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and Hawaii.
He and his wife Priscilla Chan love Hawaii, buying 1400 acres of land in Kauai where they work in the local community.
In 2014, they bought 707 acres including most of Pila’a beach and Kahu’aina Plantation.
Zuckerberg owns at least 1.83 acres in Palo Alto, California, reportedly paying $67.9m for five homes totalling 15 bedrooms and more than 16 bathrooms.
He bought the main home, which has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, in 2011 – a year before he married Ms Chan. The pair married at the home.
The mansion has a saltwater pool, a sunroom, an entertainment pavilion, a fireplace, a barbecue area, a spa, front and back porches.

There have been reports of unusual amenities such as a “Facebook Cannon” which launches grey T-shirts and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant with the voice of Morgan Freeman.
The four other homes are used as guest accommodation for the family.
In 2018, Zuckerberg spent $78.8m on two Lake Tahoe homes — known as the Brushwood and Carousel estates.
It would be a tough choice of where to stay during their visits to the lake with the Brushwood estate a six-bedroom, five-bathroom home on six acres of land, with a private pier, patios, a guesthouse and a garage.
The Carousel estate has an eight-bedroom, nine-bathroom home on 3.5 acres.
Zuckerberg ran into neighbourly troubles after buying a property in Dolores Heights in San Francisco for around $13m in 2012.
His renovations attracted complaints which were later dismissed with the work on the 1920s home including remodelled kitchen and bathrooms, replacing and repairing the stucco and brick exterior, making it fire and earthquake safe and installing airconditioning.
And in the other corner … Elon Musk topped the list of the most searched celebrity homes earlier this year.
In 2020, Musk famously announced he “will own no house” and planned to sell his entire property portfolio to help fund a colony in Mars.
Since then, he has done just that offloading seven homes including four mansions in Los Angeles – one which was Gene Wilder’s former home — along with other luxurious properties including a 100-year-old mansion in San Francisco.
He started off by selling a sprawling Los Angeles Bel-Air mansion for US$29m (equivalent of around $42m Aussie dollars).
The 1487sq m mansion has six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, tennis court, two-storey library and wine cellar with holding up to 1000 bottles.
Around four months later, he sold a nearby Bel-Air home which previously belonged to Wilder for US$7m.
Around the time, Musk tweeted “Just one stipulation on sale: I own Gene Wilder’s old house. It cannot be torn down or lose any its soul”.
One of his favourite homes was a mansion south of San Francisco which he referred to as his “special place” after buying in 2017.
He saved this sale until last, putting the historic 9-bedroom, 9 bathroom abode on the market in June 2021.

The 47-acre property in Hillsborough sold in late 2021 for US$30m.
He now lives in a small, rented Boxabl home worth US$50,000 nearby SpaceX’s headquarters in Texas.
Musk’s net worth is approximately US$232 billion, compared to Zuckerberg’s whose is around US$107 billion.
