The property they targeted was a two-bedroom, two-bathroom terrace at 143 Reservoir St, Surry Hills, which was listed for auction with Matt Marano of Oxford Real Estate with a $1.75m guide.
Gleeson secured it for $1.9m prior to auction.
The property is perfect for Reid’s needs — he’s going to do a reno, then use the self-contained lower level of the property as a short-term rental on Airbnb.
The top level will be his Sydney bolthole, as he’s planning a move to Singapore because of his expanding business.
Reid’s appearance in Byron Baes in 2022 drew some media reports, with Sydney Confidential’s Annette Sharp suggesting it was a case of him chasing his “long-held dream of becoming the next Kyle Sandilands”.
He’d previously been an assistant to the radio shock-jock and has attracted attention for a range of spurious claims.
