A US man has shown off the inside of his staggering $US3.7 ($A5.9 million) one-bedroom ‘dome’ apartment in New York City.

Anthony Park, a luxury real estate agent, posted a video tour of his own very special abode — which is located inside a former police station’s radio room – to his YouTube channel.

“Welcome to my $3.7 million one-bedroom apartment in New York City,” he captioned, then proceeded to guide his followers through his luxe pad, beginning with the large living area.

“This used to be the radio room when the building was a police station, but more on that later,” he said.

“The rest of the apartment has a similar aesthetic and feel, with tons of windows and arched ceilings.

“It’s a nice compromise of rustic and modern,” he added as he showed off the luxurious bathroom that featured a soaking tub.

“You have all the character without sacrificing the amenities and quality.”

After revealing the chic kitchen, he took viewers inside the most unique space of all: his bedroom, which is housed in one of the building’s two domes.

“It may seem excessive to some, but I think it’s just the right amount of space for me,” he said at the end of the clip.

Viewers were stunned by Mr Park’s glorious apartment and waxed lyrical about the bedroom in the comments section.

People online branded the home “beautiful,” “amazing,” and “unique.”

However, some were left flabbergasted by the price of the one-bedroom home, with one person commenting: “I’m always amazed at the amount of money someone would spend just to live in NYC.

“For $3.7 million here, you could have a 1,000 acres with a mansion on it. And it’s just an apartment, so he doesn’t even own the whole property.”

However, others were floored by the home, with one writing: “You found a one-of-a-kind home that has so much open space. That level of privacy is rare in NYC. Your home is beyond incredible.”

The apartment has a starry past — having been sold to Park by US billionaire heiress and movie producer Megan Ellison, daughter of Oracle software mogul Larry Ellison.

According to Curbed, Megan purchased the lavish space in 2008 for under $US3 million then used it as a pied-à-terre for many years before putting it on the market in 2023.

Property records reveal Megan was unable to find a buyer for the dwelling and appears to have since decided to rent out the apartment — giving Mr Park the opportunity to enjoy the unique abode.

The apartment was designed by architects Hoppin and Koen and completed in 1909, Realtor reports.

The building served as Manhattan’s police headquarters until 1973, at which time it was transformed into a luxury co-op.

The kitchen is equipped with a Miele six-burner range, a microwave oven, two convection wall ovens, an espresso maker, and a dishwasher.
