Inside Drake’s $40k-a-night Aussie suite

Touring Canadian rapper Drake is blowing massive cash to make sure he’s living the high life while in Australia.

Will home prices continue to grow in 2025?

Canadian rapper Drake has opened a window into the superstar lifestyle celebrities enjoy when they are touring Australia and some of the country’s most expensive properties via his controversial drone video.

Drake, currently touring Australia on his Anita Max Win Tour, was shown on social media footage apparently furiously reacting to a drone filming him in the top floor penthouse suite at Sydney’s Crown Towers Barangaroo.

However some have questioned whether the footage is a ‘set up’, ‘staged’, ‘fake’ or a ‘scam’ - claiming what appears to be an invasion of privacy is instead a silly attempt at a viral marketing stunt.

Drake is staying in the same penthouse that the world’s richest female musician Taylor Swift stayed on her Eras tour when she visited Sydney last year.

According to reports, it is Australia’s most expensive hotel suite and costs almost $40,000 a night ro rent.

It sits on the 88th and 89th floors, around 250m above the harbour below.

Crown Towers Barangaroo which sits harbourside on the western fringe of Sydney’s CBD consists of both Crown Towers and Crown Residences - comprising of both hotel and residential apartments.

Crown casino and hospitality venues take up the remaining floors.

Crown Residences made a name for itself in 2019 before construction was even finished, when the penthouse at One Sydney Harbour project in Barangaroo South was sold for a record home sale of more than $140m.

It’s a record that might have only just been beaten, after unconfirmed reports of a $150m+ sale in Melbourne earlier this month.

Sales across Barangaroo have netted more than $1bn.

Packer bought the two storey luxury Sky Home inside Crown Residences off the plan in 2017 for $60m before his departure from the Crown empire.
