Five years after buying a Point Piper waterfront mansion for $40m, a childcare queen has listed it for sale with an ambitious price guide.

The Little Learning childcare chain founder Alexandra Jakob has her three-level five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Wolseley Rd trophy home for sale with $100m hopes via Monika Tu and Jad Khattar of BlackDiamondz.

“For many years, 50 Wolseley has been one of the few waterfront homes with a coveted gun barrel Harbour Bridge view available on the market,” Tu said.

“Boasting over 25m of water frontage, a slipway and a boathouse, it also comes with a DA-approved Bruce Stafford modern design that includes an additional level.

“The opportunity to acquire property on such a prestigious street is truly priceless.”

Tu said there’d been only a minor reno done to the house, though the boathouse had been given a makeover and the slipway extended.

When asked if the phone was already running hot, Tu laughed and said: “It only hit the market yesterday, but yes we do have some inspections coming up.”

But no, there won’t be an open home.

The listing comes just days after Melbourne’s wealthy Myer family put their Toorak mansion up for sale with predictions it could fetch $100m.

Only two houses have sold for $100m in Australia, both in Point Piper, the Fairwater estate for exactly that in 2018 and UIG Lodge for $130m in 2022.

Jakob and her former husband, Gabriel Jakob, had plans to build their “forever home” on the site several years back — they’d bought the two neighbouring homes meaning they’d spent close to $100m — but then they got divorced and Alexandra is downsizing instead of expanding.
