Hugh Jackman’s luxury Sydney mansion for sale

A Woollahra mansion that was rented by recently separated couple Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness for the filming of X-Men Origins: Wolverine is set to hit the market.
The incredible stately home, with pool, tennis court and north-easterly aspect, is at 38-40 Wallaroy Rd.
It’s listed via Raine and Horne Double Bay’s Alex Lyons, who nominates luxury homes priced between $36m and $40m as comparables.
Lyons is on fire this year, having achieved a range of big sales totalling $300m since January.

The Woollahra residence is owned by another real estate legend, James Dack, who grew up in a Wooloomooloo housing commission terrace but rose to be a top-selling agent at McGrath for 25 years, and his wife Mary Cowin Dack, daughter of the Hungry Jacks founder, billionaire Jack Cowin.
According to records, they’d bought the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home with double garage on a 1,140 sqm block for $10.6m from property developer Rob Palmer and his wife, Inge, in 2011.

And it was these owners who’d rented the property to Jackman and Furness in 2008 during the movie-shoot at Fox Studios at Moore Park. They had it listed soon after for $5000 a week.
The blue-ribbon estate is exceptionally private and hidden from the street.
Reminiscent of a European villa, it’s not hard to imagine Jackman and Furness, in happier times, relaxing in the poolside cabana.
There are multiple living areas and a loggia flowing to alfresco terraces, the tennis court and manicured gardens.
Inside, over two spacious levels, rooms include the entrance hall, living room dining area, sitting and family area, study, kitchen (Wolf oven, Miele dishwasher, Liebherr fridge) with island bench, butler’s pantry; vast main bedroom suite (with two dressing rooms and ensuite) and four more large bedrooms. There’s also airconditioning, gas fireplaces and an alarm system.
The comparable sales include the $35m sale nearby of former Crown boss Rob Rankin’s Woodlands last March; the Bulkara Rd, Bellevue Hill home snapped up by F45 founder Rob Deutsch for $37m in February and the recent $40m sale of pastoralists Camilla and Rob Cropper’s home in Kambala Rd, Bellevue Hill.
