Former US Vice President Kamala Harris will take centre stage at the 27th annual AREC property industry conference in May, her first speaking engagement in Australia.

The 49th vice president of the United States, who conceded defeat against Republican president Donald Trump in November last year, will participate in a moderated conversation on the AREC Stage.

She will be one of 32 speakers at the event, which includes Buying in Beverly Hills star Mauricio Umansky, entrepreneur Steven Bartlett, sports coach and mentor Tim Grover and Aussie swim sensations Emma McKeon and Ariarne Titmus.

The swimming golden girls will address the audience on mental toughness and overcoming setbacks, the role of teamwork and support systems and how to turn competition into motivation.

Founded by property industry expert John McGrath, AREC25 will be held from May 25 to 26.

“We have always had a reputation for delivering the highest quality and sought after speakers, making it the standout event in the southern hemisphere for our industry. This year’s line-up has surpassed our expectations,” Mr McGrath said.

Day one will see industry coach Josh Phegan take on topics such as performance and recovery, lead generation, how to get and sell listings and strategies for business and life success.

Mr Umansky, who founded The Agency and starred on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, will be the keynote speaker on day two of the conference, and will share his secrets around topics such as personal branding, building and maintaining client relations, negotiating skills and selling luxury real estate.

“Mauricio will bring a wealth of knowledge in managing high performing teams as he has built an iconic personal brand across the competitive markets of Los Angeles, Miami and New York,” Mr McGrath said.

Additionally there is host of Australasian real estate speakers that will be announced shortly.

Head of Total Real Estate training, the organiser of AREC, Izzy Savva, said their continued focus has always been to innovate and evolve the AREC experience for its delegates.

“This year we have developed a program that Australia has never experienced previously with an exceptional calibre of speakers who will share their diverse insights and learnings,” Ms Savva said.

Last year, around 5000 real estate agents from across the country attended the conference, which attracted speakers including celebrity US agent Ryan Serhant, Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, and former underworld figure turned top Aussie agent, Mat Steinwede.
