Embattled F45 founder Adam Gilchrist offloads $14m Freshwater home
Gym guru and F45 co-founder Adam Gilchrist has off-loaded his Sydney trophy home $1m over its guide, amid reports of an investigation into the health franchise.
Gym guru and F45 founder Adam Gilchrist has off-loaded his Freshwater trophy home prior to auction for more than $14m and at least $1m over its guide.
Word on the street is that the tri-level beachfront home has sold two weeks before it was due to be auctioned, creating another new record for the suburb.
It is also a huge vote of confidence in Freshwater because when Adam Gilchrist and his wife Eli first bought the four-bedroom house in Ocean View Rd back in 2018 they doubled the suburb record overnight paying $14m for their neighbour’s house and astounding the locals.
The purchase was widely believed to be an anomaly as the Gilchrists’ owned the cottage next door and bought number 52 Ocean View Rd after neighbours objected to their development plans. Agents at the time said the $14m figure was an outlier and not likely to be matched in the suburb for many years.
Agents Michael Clarke and Mike Dunn, of Clarke & Humel, have been marketing the property this time around and wouldn’t comment on the sale.
It is believed however there has been international interest in the architect-designed house just footsteps from the famous surfing beach and with close views of the surf and sand.

The sale is a spot of good news for Gilchrist who last month stepped down from being CEO of the F45 company and watched share prices in the global franchise plummet.
Mr Gilchrist co-founded the F45 business with Rob Deutsch in 2013 with a gym in Paddington, it grew into a global franchise and attracted high profile investors such as Mark Wahlberg.
After Gilchrist stepped down as CEO, Deutsch said on social media that F45 was plagued by “enormous issues”.
The Australian Financial Review reported that several high-profile law firms have opened investigations into F45 Training Holdings and that major shareholder and actor Mark Wahlberg cashed out $US12.2 million ($A17.12m) in April,
When the four-bedroom house came to market at the end of July agent Michael Clarke said the house represented Freshwater at its best.
“This is The Freshwater dream whether you are a surfer or have always aspired to live within footsteps of one of Australia’s best beaches,” he said.
The house had an auction guide of $13m and was due to be auctioned on August 27.
What’s inside this full brick and concrete home is three levels of cutting-edge design making the most of the compact level block and the close Ocean View.
There are sandstone walls, terrazzo flooring and wide timber floorboards. An internal lift serves all levels, there are living rooms on every floor and lots of outdoor areas including a covered northeast facing entertaining area with barbecue and several balconies upstairs.
The first floor has most of the living accommodation including a 7m long family room, a dining room with giant retractable windows and a Corian kitchen with butler’s pantry, induction cooktop and breakfast bar. Each of these areas have glorious ocean views and two bedrooms with balconies, plus a study are also on this level.
The top floor has a full-width living room with gas fireplace and the room opens to a deep wraparound balcony and the beach view. The main bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, full ensuite and its own balcony is also here, and faces northeast.
On the ground floor there is a rumpus room with wet bar, a gym, covered entertaining area with barbecue and a double garage.
Appointments include ducted airconditioning, C-bus lighting, electric blinds, a hot and cold beach shower, video intercom and a Vergola-covered seaside terrace.
